ECMPG (Eurofuge)

ECMPG (Eurofuge) is one of the two regional conferences organized by ISSMGE TC104, taking place every 4 years, alternating with ICPMG (i.e., taking place 2 years after ICPMG). Eurofuge offers a forum for European academics, engineers, researchers, technicians and students, to discuss the latest developments in modelling techniques, technologies, similitude laws, and all other aspects of physical modelling in geotechnics.

The Inaugural Eurofuge took place at the City University London, and was chaired by Prof. Andrew McNamara. This was followed by the 2nd Eurofuge (2012) at TU Delft in the Netherlands, co-organized with Deltares and chaired Prof. Adam Bezuijen and Prof. Jelke Dijkstra. The 3rd Eurofuge (2016) was held in Nantes, organized by IFSTTAR and chaired by Dr. Luc Thorel. The 4th Eurofuge (ECPMG 2020) took place in hybrid format (due to the Covid-19 pandemic) in Sweden, at the Luleå University of Technology, chaired by Prof. Jan Laue.
The 5th Eurofuge will be coming back to the Netherlands in 2024, and will be held once more at TU Delft, co-organized with Deltares, this time under the leadership of Dr. Suzanne van Eekelen from Deltares and Prof. Miguel Cabrera from TU Delft.
